AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s National Quran Museum is set to relocate to the Saadabad Cultural and Historical Complex in northern Tehran, a move aimed at enhancing visitor experience and accessibility.
Hojat-ol-Islam Fakhreddin Saberi, director of the museum, stated that the decision was made by the Museums Department of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts. The relocation, scheduled for next week, seeks to address logistical challenges such as limited parking and restricted access at the museum’s current location at the intersection of Imam Khomeini and Valiasr streets.
The new site at Saadabad will provide expanded facilities, allowing for a broader range of services and events. Saberi emphasized that the museum’s relocation is part of a larger effort to preserve and showcase Islamic heritage in a more accommodating environment.
Established in 2005, the National Museum of the Quran is dedicated to Quranic arts and historical manuscripts. Its collection includes rare handwritten copies of the Quran, works by renowned Iranian poets, scrolls, and books of Islamic supplications, spanning from the fourth century AH to the late Qajar era.
